Meet Your New Photographer
Hey there, I'm Claire!
I’m the creative spirit behind Appalachian Lens—lover of color, natural light, and those in-between moments that make life beautifully weird and wildly wonderful. My work is all about capturing the good stuff: the tearful laughs, the quiet in-between glances, and the kind of chaos that makes a memory unforgettable. Whether it's a cozy family session, a portrait with personality, or even a corporate gig that needs some creative spark, I bring a mix of heart and curiosity to every frame.

My Story
Hi, I’m a Georgia-raised, East Tennessee based gal, and I love capturing life’s beautiful, real, and raw moments.

Photography and I go way back to middle school—I'll spare you my awful early on photos, but life led me down other paths. It wasn’t until my thirties that I finally picked up a “real” camera and realized this dream wasn’t going anywhere.Photography and I go way back—think middle school days and truly terrible early photos (spared for your sake). In 2010, I even started school for photography, but life had other plans, and the dream got tucked away for a while. It wasn’t until my thirties that I finally picked up a “real” camera again and realized this passion had never left me. It just waited patiently for the right time to grow.

I got married in a tiny, beautiful ceremony... with no photographer. No photos of the light, or the tears, or the quiet joy. Same for my pregnancy and home birth. Those missing memories lit a fire in me—to make sure others don’t miss theirs!

In January 2023, something inside me shouted, “It’s time to buy a camera!” and I listened. Since then, I’ve had the honor of photographing tiny toes, teary vows, and everything in between across East Tennessee and North Georgia.

When I’m not behind the lens, you can usually find me with my family in the garden, experimenting in the kitchen, hunting for hidden food gems, or driving aimlessly through the mountains (getting lost is kind of my hobby).

I’d be honored to tag along on your journey and help turn your fleeting moments into something unforgettable. Because these days don’t last forever—but your photos can live forever on your walls.
