The Most Meaningful Mother's Day Gift? Memories with Mom

Updated: Jun 13

Time moves faster than we realize.

One minute you’re rocking a newborn in the quiet of a Tuesday afternoon… the next, you're packing their backpack for school. It all happens in a blink. And in that blur of busyness—between appointments, meals, tantrums, and tired bedtime routines—it’s so easy to say, “We’ll book a session later.”

But later doesn’t always come.

It's that time of year. 'Mother's Day Gifts for Mom' signage everywhere you go-which makes me think

"I Wish I Had More Photos with My Mom"

My mom passed away when I was 22. And while I have some photos of her, I don’t have enough of us together. Not of the everyday stuff—her cooking, laughing with us, braiding our hair, just being our mom.

I would give anything now to look back and see more of those moments frozen in time.

That’s why I do what I do.

That’s why I believe in professional photography—not as a luxury or a “maybe someday” thing—but as a way to hold onto the little things that become the big things. The smell of their hair, the way they fit in your lap, the connection you can’t explain but feel in your bones.

Don't wait for Mother's Day to gift mom

You Don’t Need a Reason—You Just Need Time. We often wait for a milestone: a birthday, a holiday, a new baby, or even just mother's day to give back to mom. But some of the most meaningful images come from ordinary days. Backyard play. Baking cookies. Morning snuggles. Dancing in the kitchen.

Those are the moments that are the story.

Professional photos give you more than something pretty to hang on the wall—they give you a piece of time you can return to. A way to see yourself in the life you’re building.

Why Professional Photos Matter

Sure, your phone is filled with snapshots. But there’s something different about being intentionally seen. About taking a pause in the rush of life to say:

“This matters. This season. This love. Let’s hold onto it.”

A good photographer (hi, it’s me 👋🏼) will do more than pose you. I’ll help you feel comfortable, guide you gently, and make space for the real magic to happen—the unscripted connection that unfolds when you're just being together.

You Deserve This. They Deserve This.

Not just for now, but for years from now—when your kids are grown and flipping through albums or scrolling through old folders. Give them more than a memory. Give them something they can see.

Let’s not wait for a perfect time. Let’s just pick a day and make it count.

Let’s freeze a few of these beautiful, ordinary, unforgettable moments together.
